You envited me to your church, you envited me to your sunday school, but why didn’t you ever tell me about your Jesus?”
This is a quote from my man’s evangelism class and when he showed it to me it stuck my heart.
Christ gave us the great commission which most of us know by heart.
“Go into all the world and preach the gospelĀ to every nation.”
But do we really reach out to those hurting and in need?
We as a church make social events every other week and we invite our friends conveniently forgetting to tell them about the gospel message that will be presented at the end of the gathering.
We say that we are witnessing by living our faith in front of others so they can see who Christ is in us. But if we never tell them why we act the way we do our witness is in vain. We are no better than a Buddhist or Hindu and people will think we are just really good people.
We forget as Christians the power of the simple truth of the gospel.
Christ was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life changing the world one person at a time, was condemned to death by the people he came to save and change, was killed in the most inhuman and painful way possible, was buried for three days and in that time took possession of the keys to death and hell, rose again on the third day and now is seated at the right hand of the father pleading for us. And he did all that because of one simple fact. He loved us.
I challenge all of us to really sit and think about what each of those facts really means to us and what they could mean to that person at the next table over.
We do not need some fancy event or a invitation for church through which that someone will hear the amazing truth of Christ’s love and grace.
We only need what we know and our own mouths speaking forth the truth that set us free. Let us never have a person come up to us and say “But why didn’t you tell me about him?”
So let us as a church shout from the tops of our lungs the truth we know.
My Savior loves, my Savior lives, and my Savior saves!

People are afraid to share the truth. I believe you should spend more time with Christ so that He can drive out that fear with His love.
